Is “X-Men: Second Class” On The Way?

SuperHero Hype has got the skinny on Fox hiring Simon Kinberg to write a sequel to X-Men: First Class. The last X-Men feature has seemed to pump new blood into the X-franchise after Wolverine and X3 slowed it down a bit. Box office returns were average but the film has been killing on DVD and BluRay and word of mouth has been extremely positive.

Kinberg has spent time in the mutant universe before by writing X3. His other credits include Mr and Mrs Smith, Jumper, and Sherlock Holmes. None of those credits really inspire any confidence, but if Fox brings Matthew Vaughn back to helm this sequel you can count on his bringing Jane Goldman in to polish the script. That’s how First Class ended up as great as it was, and to be honest I’ll only be interested if Vaughn and Goldman return.

We’ll keep you posted as the story develops.
