The “Avengers” Assemble For Two New Banners

The May release of The Avengers is inching closer and closer, and Marvel is amping up the marketing materials. Today they released two new banners for the film, one with the A-team (Cap, Hulk, Iron Man, and Thor) and the other featuring the supporting players (Nick Fury, Black Widow, Loki, and Hawkeye).

The film stars Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Chris Helmsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow, and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye.  Joss Whedon, the writer/director of Serenity and TV’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer, is writing and directing the team-up pic.

My reviews of Captain America and Thor can be found by clicking through those links. With Avengers, Dark Knight Rises, and The Amazing Spider-Man all coming out next summer, it’ll be a heckuva season for comic book fans.

The Avengers hits theaters May 4th, 2012.
