I know I saw the last Sherlock Holmes, but I can’t remember a single thing about it. I don’t say that to be snarky, but to highlight that this trailer looks almost exactly like the first film: lots of explosions, quips, and after watching it I already have a hard time recalling details.
Regardless, “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows“* brings the whole gang back together again with director Guy Richie and actors Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law reprising their roles. New to the franchise is Jared Harris as Professor Moriarty, Holmes’ nemesis, the one man he was never quite able to catch (spoiler?).
The first Holmes weathered the storm that was Avatar quite well in 2009, and this sequel seems to have less competition this holiday season. Warner’s is surely glad to have a nice shiny new franchise to play with.
