World War Z is an excellent book, but none of that is on hand here. The book is an oral history of the zombie apocalypse, spanning continents and cultures. The film centers on Brad Pitt and his family, so you can kind of see this as a big budget Walking Dead. Marc Forster, the director of Quantum of Solace and Finding Neverland, brings his journeyman sensibilities to the material, and while this trailer looks kind of bland I don’t see it as anything offensive. This is one of the wild cards of next summer, and hopefully it’ll be a good one.
