“Battlestar Galactica” Set To Be Remade….Again.

“All this has happened before, and all of it will happen again” was a common refrain in the revamped Battlestar Galactica TV series, one of the best serialized programs of the past decade. It seems that phrase was right on the money. Deadline has the scoop on Bryan Singer (Valkyrie, X-Men) rebooting the property once more (it originated as a Mormon-themed Star Wars in the 70s) for Universal Pictures with John Orloff writing the script. Orloff wrote the upcoming Anonymous, the William Shakespeare-didn’t-write-his-plays movie, which is getting surprisingly strong press and comes to theaters next month.

Singer has been working to reboot Galactica for a few years now, and once his Jack the Giant Killer for New Line is complete, this will be his next work. No word on what direction this version will take or if this’ll be a one off or a series of films (I’m betting on the latter), but expect all to be revealed in the coming weeks.
