“Transformers 4” Has A Director

A while back we reported on the next two Transformers movies which were supposedly being shot back to back. We were also told that Michael Bay, the man behind the first three movies, would be taking a producer credit and not returning to direct.

Well, surprise!

All that talk was just meant as leverage. Vulture is reporting that Michael Bay, in an effort to get his small personal film Pain and Gain off the ground, has agreed to direct another Transformer movie.

Pain and Gain is a hard R, low budget film about a group of Miami bodybuilders who kidnap, torture, and rob a Florida businessman but get their comeuppance when the left-for-dead victim hires a private eye to hunt them down. In order for Bay to get Paramount interested he has agreed to shoot Pain and Gain early next year and quickly jumping into production on Transformers 4.

Vulture goes on to discuss what the next film will possibly be about, but really does anyone care? It won’t be a prequel, but seeing how these films work I don’t think anyone would notice if it was.

We’ll keep you updated as the story develops.
