
Directed by Fernando Eimbcke, the comedy drama film ‘Olmo’ centers on 14-year-old Olmo, a Mexican-American teen in 1979 New Mexico who must care for his bedridden father with multiple sclerosis while juggling family responsibilities. When his enchanting neighbor Nina invites him to a party (on the condition that he brings his father’s stereo), his world turns upside down as he and his best friend embark on a nocturnal adventure balancing duty, teenage freedom, friendship, and first crushes.
‘Olmo’ stars Aivan Uttapa (as Olmo), Gustavo Sánchez Parra (as Nestor), Andrea Suárez Paz (as Cecilia), Rosa Armendariz (as Ana), Melanie Frometa (as Nina), and Diego Olmedo (as Miguel).
Written by Fernando Eimbcke with Vanesa Garnica, ‘Olmo’ is produced by Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Eréndira Núñez Larios, and Michel Franco, with executive producers Brad Pitt, Caddy Vanasirikul,and Yuri Chung. Production companies are Plan B Entertainment and Teorema.
The film’s cinematography is by Carolina Costa, the music is by Giosuè Greco, and the editing is by Mariana Rodríguez.
