Directed by Phuong Mai Nguyen, the animation film ‘In Waves’ is a true story set against the sun-soaked surf culture of Southern California that explores finding your soulmate, living life to the fullest, and love’s enduring power to shape who we become and what we leave behind.
‘In Waves’ stars Will Sharpe (as voice of AJ) and Stephanie Hsu (as voice of Kristen).
Written by Fanny Burdino and Samuel Doux, with story based on the graphic novel by AJ Dungo, ‘In Waves’ is produced by Priscilla Bertin, Judith Nora, and Nick Shumaker, with executive producers Stephanie Hsu, Garrett Kemble, and Will Sharpe.
The film’s editing is by Roberto Fernandez with Clémence Millat, Mélanie Moulin, Damien Pagliarini, and Morgane Saxel-Meng, with music by Robin Coudert and Marylou Mayniel.

Netflix will release ‘In Waves’ in select theaters on November 27, 2026, and will stream digitally on Netflix on December 11, 2026.
