
Directed by Travis Knight, the sci-fi live-action film ‘Masters of the Universe’ centers on how after being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam back to Eternia where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor. To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela and Duncan/Man-At-Arms, and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe.

Based on the iconic franchise by Mattel’s classic 80’s toy brand, the screenplay for ‘Masters of the Universe’ is written by Chris Butler, Aaron Nee, Adam Nee and Dave Callaham, with story by Aaron Nee, Adam Nee, Alex Litvak, and Michael Finch. The film is produced by Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Robbie Brenner, and DeVon Franklin, with executive producers Ynon Kreiz, Bill Bannerman, and David Bloomfield. Production companies are Amazon MGM Studios, Mattel Studios, and Escape Artists.
The film’s cinematography is by Fabian Wagner, the music is by Daniel Pemberton, and the editing is by Paul Rubell.

‘Masters of the Universe’ will be released theatrically in the U.S. on June 5, 2026 by Amazon MGM Studios and internationally this June, by Sony Pictures International Releasing.
