Directed by Ernest Dickerson, David Moreau, RZA, Renee Zhan, Flying Lotus, and Tobias Forge, the film ‘V/H/S/MIXTAPE’ centers on a music-themed found-footage anthology in which music, rhythm, and audio become sources of terror. The wraparound is staged as an MTV-style show from hell hosted by GWAR, with music-video interludes connecting four original segments: “Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance,” in which a studio tries to reboot a long-cancelled puppet show with a mysterious past and work from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop; “Heartbeat,” in which YouTube urbex influencers become trapped in a decommissioned military facility used for sonic experiments; “The Music of Mr. Sze,” in which a college film student’s documentary uncovers the reclusive life of a tormented musician; and “Death Tone,” in which a young sound engineer follows her late father’s instructions to create the ultimate track. The film blends cosmic horror, psychological suspense, splatter, and practical effects into one mixtape of nightmares.

Shudder will release ‘V/H/S/MIXTAPE’ digitally on Shudder and AMC+ on October 9, 2026, following its world premiere at Beyond Fest on September 30, 2026. There is no U.S. wide theatrical release announced.
