‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ Fantasy Film Stars Andrew Garfield, Claire Foy, and Nicola Coughlan – Trailer and Release Date

Directed by Ben Gregor, the fantasy film ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ follows Polly and Tim Thompson and their children, Beth, Joe, and Fran, who find themselves forced to relocate to the remote English countryside. There, the children set on a series of adventures into fantastical worlds at the top of a magical tree in an enchanted forest. Filled with eccentric, beloved characters like Moonface, Silky, Dame Washalot, and Saucepan Man, the story has delighted children and adults alike for decades.

‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ stars Andrew Garfield (as Tim Thompson), Claire Foy (as Polly Thompson), Nicola Coughlan (as Silky), Jessica Gunning (as Dame Washalot), and Rebecca Ferguson (as Dame Snap).

Based on the book series ‘The Faraway Tree’ by Enid Blyton, ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ film is written by Simon Farnaby, and is produced by Pippa Harris, Nicholas Brown, Danny Perkins, and Jane Hooks, with executive producers Tamara Birkemoe, Jonathan Bross, Matthew E. Chausse, Jacqueline de Croy, Joe Simpson, Merrick Stoller, Andy Wang, and Simon Williams. Production companies are Neal Street Productions and Elysian Film Group.

Cinematography for ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ is by Zac Nicholson, music by Isabella Summers, with editing by Gary Dollner.

Additional cast includes Nonso Anozie (as Moonface), Dustin Demri-Burns (as Saucepan Man), Oliver Chris (as Mr. Watzisname), Mark Heap (as Mr. Oom Boom Boom), Jennifer Saunders (as Grandma Thompson), Hiran Abeysekera (as Angry Pixie), Pippa Bennett-Warner (as Hannah), Simon Russell Beale, Lenny Henry (as The Great Know-All), and Michael Palin.

Entertainment Film Distributors is releasing ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ in theaters in the UK and Australia on March 27, 2026. No announcement for a U.S. distribution or digital release yet.

Andrew Garfield is best known for playing Spider-Man/Peter Parker in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ film, in addition to his roles in ‘The Social Network’ and ‘Hacksaw Ridge.’ Claire Foy is most known for her role as Queen Elizabeth II in the Netflix series ‘The Crown.’ Nicola Coughlan is best known for his roles in the television series ‘Ted Lasso’ and ‘Sweet Tooth.’
