‘They Fight’ Sports Drama Film Stars André Holland, Wendell Pierce, and Samira Wiley – Trailer and Release Date

Directed by Sheldon Candis, the sports drama film ‘They Fight’ follows a group of adolescent boxers and their formerly incarcerated coach in Southeast Washington DC on the road to defend their national titles.

‘They Fight’ stars André Holland (as Walt Manigan), Wendell Pierce (as Slim), Samira Wiley (as Ketta), Anthony B. Jenkins (as Peanut), Toussaint Francois Battiste (as Quincey), and Mykelti Williamson.

Written by Sheldon Candis and Andrew Renzi, with the story based on Andrew Renzi’s 2018 documentary, ‘They Fight’ is produced by Jason Michael Berman, Ben Renzo, and Andrew Renzi, with executive producer Andrew Corkin. Production companies are A/Vantage Pictures, Andscape, Argent Pictures, Common Films, Green/Renzi, Mandalay Pictures, and North of Now Group.

The film’s cinematography is by Mark Jeevaratnam, the music is by Gary Gunn, and the editing is by Nona Khodai.

Hulu will release They Fight’ on Disney+ on July 17, 2026.
