‘Power Ballad’ Musical Comedy Film Stars Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas – Trailer and Release Date

Directed by John Carney, the musical comedy film Power Ballad centers on when Rick, a past-his-prime wedding singer, meets fading boy-band star Danny during a gig, the two bond over music and a late-night jam session. But when Danny turns one of Rick’s songs into the hit that reignites his career, Rick sets out to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves – even if it means risking everything he cares about.

Power Ballad stars Paul Rudd (as Rick), Nick Jonas (as Danny), Peter McDonald (as Sandy), Marcella Plunkett (as Rachel), Rory Keenan (as Binzer), Keith McErlean (as Kyle), Jack Reynor (as Mac), Paul Reid (as Bernie), Beth Fallon (as Aja), Havana Rose Liu (as Marcia), and Naoimh Whelton (as Laura).

Written by John Carney and Peter McDonald, Power Ballad is produced by Anthony Bregman, John Carney, Peter Cron, Rebecca O’Flanagan, and Robert Walpole, with executive producers Cathleen Dore, Dan Friedkin, Micah Green, Keith Potter, and Daniel Steinman. Production companies are 30West, Fís Éireann / Screen Ireland, Likely Story, and Treasure Entertainment.

The film’s cinematography is by Yaron Orbach, the music is by John Carney and Gary Clark, and the editing is by Stephen O’Connell.
