“Thor 2” Has Lost A Director

A while back we reported that Game of Thrones director Brian Kirk was in the running to direct Thor 2. He was eventually passed over for Patty Jenkins, the director of Monster, and Jenkins began outlining her vision for the film.

Well, the Hollywood Reporter has exclusive statements from Jenkins, who recently decided to drop out of the director’s chair. Creative differences are cited as the reason for Jenkins’ departure, but Jenkins insists the parties left on good terms. “I have had a great time working at Marvel. We parted on very good terms, and I look forward to working with them again.”

So it looks like Thor 2 needs a new director. They’ll need one quick if they want to meet the November 15th, 2013 release date. Marvel has had many talented folks walk away from them due to “creative differences,” so it’ll be interesting to see who tey can wrangle in to direct not just this movie, but any further movie as their reputation around town gets less and less shiny.

We’ll keep you updated as the story develops.
