Directed by Peter Berg, the sports drama war film ‘The Mosquito Bowl’ is based on a true story that takes place after Pearl Harbor, when four star college footballers join the Marines. Before facing Okinawa’s invasion, they participate in a historic game with legendary players – for many, their final match.
‘The Mosquito Bowl’ stars Nicholas Galitzine (as John McLaughry), Bill Skarsgård (as Bob Baumann), Ray Nicholson (as Tony Butkovich), and Tom Francis (as David Schreiner).
Written by Peter Berg and Mark L. Smith, based on the book The Mosquito Bowl: A Game of Life and Death in World War II by Buzz Bissinger, ‘The Mosquito Bowl’ is produced by Peter Berg, Brian Grazer, and Alex Gayner, with executive producers Ezra Emanuel, Buzz Bissinger, and Jeb Brody. Production companies are Film 44 and Imagine Entertainment.
The film’s cinematography is by Jacques Jouffret, the music is by Explosions in the Sky, with editing by Garret Donnelly and Jon Otazua.
