Ridley Scott's new epic movie "Kingdom of Heaven" delivers a new profound image of religious warfare in the past. Not to be compared with the Academy Award winning "Gladiator" which Scott directed in 2000, "Kingdom" gives a solid performance by actors such as Orlando Bloom,Liam Neeson, Eva Green, and Edward Norton.
The lead debut for Orlando Bloom in "Kingdom of Heaven" proves that Bloom can stand up with the most prestigious actors today. His portrayal as Bailan, a blacksmith trying to recover redemption for his sins provides a stronghold for Scott's film, bringing out Bloom's potential not seen in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Black Hawk Down (also directed by Scott), or Ned Kelly.
The realistic, gut-wrenching warfare that Scott captures on film provided its viewers with an accurate portrayal of the constant battle over religious values.
"Kingdom of Heaven" is Scott's first film in years and his direction throughout proves that he still has it. "Kingdom of Heaven" is a must see for the summer of 2005.
