“Transformers: Dark of the Moon” sets opening day record for 2011

The third film in the epic series has managed to take in $37 million on its opening day, beating previous 2011 holder, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, a film that grossed $35 million on its first day.

Though it wasn’t able to equal its previous series edition domestically, it did prove the better with international gross. performing better by 38%.
