Crystal River—Synopsis

In the southern town of Talmadgeville, Georgia, Davie Nance (Emily Carpenter) is recovering from a miscarriage. Unable to sleep, she spends her nights spying on her handsome new neighbor, Clay (Sean Patrick Flanery), who has moved in with his grandfather across the street. Soon, Davie and Clay develop a friendship that threatens Davie’s marriage to Paul, and her clean-cut reputation in the small town. Davie finds herself torn between her connection with Clay and her commitment to her husband. In the end, fate plays a surprising twist and presents Davie with her heart’s deepest desire.


Director Brett Levner

Directed by Brett Levner, Crystal River is Levner’s feature film debut. She is a screenwriter and director who is completing her Master’s in Fine Arts at Columbia University. Her undergraduate thesis film, Survivors screened at the 1999 Hampton’s International Film Festival. It also won the Warner Brothers Pictures Film Production Award, The Russell Hexter Filmmaker Award and the William Gidro-Frank Film Production Award.
