We watched this dvd as a family. Each of us were not sure what the movie would hold, we just wanted to spend some family time watching a movie anyway. We were pleasantly surprised with this upbeat energic story.
The story is about a teenager, Izzy Daniels, who's father has been prepping him to be a boxer. Izzy's father had a dream of becoming a boxer and Izzy thought of nothing else until chance stepped in the way. His friend Mary needed help. She needed a person to fill in for her double dutch jump rope team.
There are little hints of family history and issues throughout the movie. Izzy wants nothing more than to please his father. His heart is being lead in a different direction than what his father wants. When everything unravels, the story ends on a nice beat. Literally... the double dutch moves and fun music make this a lively movie that is uplifting for the whole family.
Double dutch is something I did a bit of when I was younger for fun. It was a neat idea to make a film about the topic of it being a sport.
