It seems 20th Century Fox is hellbent on selling Rise of the Planet of the Apes and they don’t care how much of the movie is spoiled in doing so. The above clips are almost exclusively from the third act of the movie, with major action beats and character moments being spoiled. If this footage gets you excited to see the whole movie, be aware the first two acts are pretty much straight drama with the monkey-action kicking in only for the final third.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes opens on August 5th, 2011

  1. The one factor that always produced the “Planet of the Apes” a bit campy was actors in make up and monkey suits. So in one instance, here’s wherever technologies, specifically the use motion- capture technology as observed in “Avatar,” can almost single-handedly justify revisiting an old franchise. But the apes of “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” don’t just appear awesome – they’ve souls. So does this script, which delivers one of the summer’s greatest surprises in terms of pure entertainment and depth of storytelling.
