FOX Considers a “Zombieland” TV Show

I dug the heck out of Zombielandand judging by the box office receipts and the continuing prevalence of zombies in pop culture, so did a lot of you. FOX has taken note of the zombie love, and after The Walking Dead gave AMC a record high cable series debut this weekend, they’ve decided to get into the zombie business too.

Vulture has the scoop on the impending deal to bring Zombieland to TV screens. Ironically, the feature film was originally meant to be a television show on CBS, then SyFy, but both channels filtered out what made the film such an offbeat surprise. This lead the filmmakers to take their idea to the big screen, but those “Zombie Kill of The Week” bits make a lot more sense now, don’t they? If a major network is claiming the series, it makes sense for FOX, which has staked its reputation on quirky comedies that push the envelope.

We’ll keep you updated as this story develops.
